Mark Your Calendars: Softball Releases 2023 Schedule

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The 2023 season will begin Feb. 17 for the Ball State softball program according to the schedule released by third-year head coach Lacy Schurr today (Wednesday, Nov. 30).

As typical during the early portion of the season, the Cardinals will migrate south for tournaments at UAB (Feb. 17-19), Murray State (Feb. 24-26), Georgia (March 3-5), and Liberty (March 10-12). Throw in a non-conference twin bill at East Tennessee State (March 8) and Ball State will be challenged throughout its pre-conference slate.

Mid-American Conference play begins March 17-18 for Ball State with a road trip to Kent State, before the Cardinals get to open the home portion of the 2023 season with a three-set league showdown versus Central Michigan (March 24-25).

Overall, Ball State will battle all 10 league foes in three-game series, including home series versus Northern Illinois (March 28-29), Toledo (April 7-8), Buffalo (April 15-16), and Miami (April 25-26).

BSU will be on the road for series at Ohio (April 1-2), Western Michigan (April 11-12), Bowling Green (April 21-22), and Akron (April 29-30).

Rounding out the schedule will be a non-conference road game at Notre Dame on April 4.

Once again, the league's top four regular season finishers will advance to the double elimination MAC Softball Championship which will be played May 11-13 at the site of the regular season champion.

The winner of the MAC Tournament earns the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Regionals which begin May 18.
