We’re Going Dancing; Volleyball Earns At-Large Berth Into NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS - - Sunday night provided one of the biggest moments in program history, as the Ball State women's volleyball team learned it earned an at-large berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.
The 2022 Mid-American Conference regular season champion and tournament runner-up Cardinals (24-8; 15-3 MAC) will travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to battle fourth-seeded Marquette (27-3; 17-1 Big East) on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Al McGuire Center. Match time is set for 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.
The winner of that match will battle either fifth-seeded Georgia Tech (20-7; 13-5 ACC) or Wright State (28-3; 18-0 Horizon League) in Friday's second round at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT.
Ball State will be making its 11th appearance, and third as an at-large (2000, 2011, 2022), in the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship. It's also the program's third appearance in the last four seasons under head coach Kelli Miller Phillips.
The Cardinals are 3-10 all-time in NCAA Tournament play, including a first-round win over Michigan last season.
