Ball State in Sixth, Gallagher tied for 14th

PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Ball State women's golf team returned to the course for the first and second rounds of the Rocket Classic on the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio, on Monday. Sarah Gallagher led the Cardinals and is tied for 14th.
The par-72, 6,118-yard course proved to be a difficult one as no one recorded a two-round score under par and only two individuals managed to shoot under par in one round.
Gallagher started the day with an opening-round score of 76 (+4). She notched one birdie in the first round. She posted a mark of 81 (+9) in round two. Her two-round total of 157 (+13) has her tied for 14th.
Peyton Broce started the day with a round of 80 (+8). She notched two birdies in the second round and posted a score of 80 (+8). She is tied for 22nd with a 160 (+16).
Madelin Boyd recorded an 85 (+13) in round one. She bounced back in the second round and moved up 10 spots into a tie for 31st at 163 (+19). She shot a 78 (+6) with a birdie in her second round of the day.
Jasmine Driscoll started the tournament with a tally of 78 (+6) with two birdies. In round two, she produced an 86 (+14). She is tied for 33rd after two rounds.
In the morning round, Payton Bennett notched one birdie and finished with an 86 (+14). She regrouped in the second round with a birdie and a score of 83 (+11). She moved up four spots on the leaderboard after round two and is tied for 43rd.
The Cardinals will be back at the Catawba Island Club on Tuesday for the final round of the Rocket Classic. Ball State will be joined by Cincinnati, Bowling Green, and Ohio and will start on holes 3-7 for the 9 a.m. shotgun start.
