2021 Ball State Women's Volleyball Schedule
MUNCIE, Ind. - - It will be a return to normal for Ball State women's volleyball this fall, as the program announced its 2021 schedule Wednesday (July 14).

After playing a league-only schedule in the spring due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the Cardinals open the 2021 fall season with a 2 p.m. home exhibition match versus Purdue Fort Wayne on Aug. 21. From there, the team will play in non-conference road tournaments at Green Bay (Aug. 27-28), Wright State (Sept. 3-4) and Iowa (Sept. 10-11).Â

Ball State closes its pre-conference slate with back-to back home matches versus Northern Kentucky Sept. 17-18. Mid-American Conference action begins the following weekend and will see the Cardinals play a total of 18 league matches.

Mirroring the spring slate, the Cardinals will play a majority of its MAC opponents in back-to-back matches. BSU will have two-match home series with Ohio (Sept. 30 - Oct. 1), Northern Illinois (Oct. 15-16) and Central Michigan (Nov. 4-5). The Cardinals will travel for road series at Kent State (Sept. 24-25), Western Michigan (Oct. 22-23) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 12-13).

Ball State will also play a home-and-home series versus travel partner Toledo, hosting the Rockets Oct. 19 and traveling to Toledo Nov. 17. The Cardinals will also face the remaining four MAC East Division teams once, traveling to Akron (Oct. 8) and Buffalo (Oct. 9), while hosting Bowling Green (Oct. 29) and Miami (Oct. 30).

The 2021 MAC Tournament will be held Nov. 22-24 on the campus of the regular season champion. The top six teams will earn spots in the event to determine who receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.

Match times will also look a little different for the Cardinals this season, as all weeknight home contests are slated for a 6:30 p.m. start. The Saturday matches versus NKU (Sept. 18) and NIU (Oct. 16) are currently set for 3 p.m., while the Saturday contest against Miami (Oct. 30) will begin at 6:30 p.m.
