Ball State assistant men's basketball coach Billy Wright is going home. Wright, who recently came to Ball State for a second time as an assistant, has accepted an offer to become the boys basketball coach at Richmond High School. Wright is a Richmond native and led the school to a state championship as a player in 1992.Â

"Billy had a unique opportunity to coach at his alma mater in his hometown," head coach James Whitford said. "He is a good man, a good friend and will do great things at Richmond. We wish him and his family the very best."
Â
Wright, who was head coach at Western Illinois from 2014-20, was also an assistant at Ball State during the 2013-14 season.
