Tahjai Teague Signs Pro Contract In CEBL

Another former Ball State Cardinal signs in the pros. Former all-conference forward Tahjai Teague has signed a pro contract to play in the CEBL in Canada.Â
"I'm thankful for the opportunity to start my professional career in Canada. I can't wait to move to Ottawa to meet the team, get to work and help this team win a championship," Teague said in the Ottawa Blackjacks official announcement.
During his BSU career, Teague ranked among the top 10 in Ball State history in points (1,518, 10th), rebounds (861, 4th), blocks (134, 3rd) and steals (159, 7th). In his senior season in 2019-20, Teague averaged 14.4 points and 9.1 rebounds and was first team All-MAC and NABC All-District as the Cards won a share of the MAC West Division title. He was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week a school-record six times that year and nearly averaged a double-double in league play. Teague notched 12 double-doubles and scored in double figures 24 times.Â
Teague is the newest Cardinals in the pro ranks, as 14 former Ball State Cardinals have signed pro contracts over the last seven years. as his teammates Tayler Persons, Trey Moses and Kyle Mallers are all thriving in Europe. Ryan Weber played in France recently, Majok Majok, Sean Sellers and Bik Gil are all former Cardinals who have played professionally recently.
"I am thrilled for Tahjai to get the opportunity to play in Ottawa this summer," head coach James Whitford said. "Tahj had an outstanding career here, and has an even brighter future in front of him. The CEBL is a highly competitive league, and the Ottawa Blackjacks are a well run and highly-respected organization. It's great place for Tahjai to begin his professional journey."
