
Women’s Golf Closes out MAC Championships in Sixth

STOW, Ohio -- The Ball State women's golf team moved up one spot in Saturday's final round to finish the MAC Championships in sixth place.
Freshman Kiah Parrott and junior Morgan Lewis led the Cardinals with scores of 77 and 78, respectively, on the closing day. Scores were slightly better Saturday, but Silver Lake Country Club continued to challenge the field.
Parrott and Lewis finished just one stroke apart for the 54-hole event. Parrott tied for 21st, while Lewis tied for 23rd.
Kent State, the nation's 13th-ranked team, built further on its overnight lead to claim its 22nd consecutive conference championship. The Golden Flashes finished 36 shots clear of second-place Northern Illinois.
Kent State also featured the tournament's individual medalist, Caley McGinty, and runner-up, Emily Price.
Ball State collected a pair of awards in the post-tournament ceremony with Hadley Moritz being named to the All-MAC Second Team and Liz Kim winning the MAC Sportswoman of the Year honor.
