School Record Relay Highlights Weekend at Vanderbilt

Conference Outdoor Performance List
NASHVILLE, Tennessee - It was another record-setting day at the track this weekend as Ball State's 4x100m relay team recorded a school record time of 45.14 at Vanderbilt. The previous school record mark of 45.20 was set in 2019.
The team of Kennedy Batts, Bryeana Byrdsong, MaQuila Norman and Michelle Lehmann broke the school record and won the event by a fraction of a second over a fast Murray State relay team. Lehmann (11.88) and Byrdsong (11.90) were at the top of the 100m charts as well, both placing in the top four. In 200m, it was Norman (24.26) and Byrdsong (24.30) placing 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
Elka Machan was the top finisher int he 5000m at 16:52.22, two seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher. That time is now 5th-fastest on the conference 5K list.Â
Alexis Thigpen, currently 6th on the conference charts in the 400m, clocked a 400m of 56.37 at Vanderbilt to place 3rd. Kylee Mastin (2:13.52) and Kayla Jones (2:13.70) competed in the 800m, and Mastin's time got her in the 10th spot on the conference 800m list. Jones has a 2:13.49 time from last month that ranks her 9th in the conference. Anasja Troutman (14.03) and Batts (14.06) were each in the top five in the 100m hurdles.Â
The 4x400 relay team also put up a good time, running 3:44.11 to place second in the event. The 3:44.11 time is 3rd in the conference.Â
Jenelle Rogers high jumped a height of 5'7.25" to place 2nd of 14 jumpers and she also placed 2nd in the triple jump (38'4"). Abby Denham, a school record performer in javelin earlier this season, tossed136'2" to place 3rd of 16 throwers.
A meet at Miami next week is the final tuneup before the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 7-8.Â
