Kim, Moritz Post Top-25 Finishes at Colonel Classic

RICHMOND, Ky. -- The Ball State women's golf team wrapped up the Colonel Classic Tuesday afternoon in ninth place.

The Cardinals closed with a round of 312 to finish with a 54-hole total of 917 at the University Club at Arlington. Hadley Moritz led the way for the team in the final round with a 74.

Liz Kim, who paced the Cardinals in each of the first two rounds, was the team's best finisher in a tie for 17th with a score of 224. Moritz climbed to 23rd at 226 to give BSU two players among the top 25 on the final leaderboard.

Tournament host Eastern Kentucky won going away with a total of 975 on its home course, finishing 18 strokes clear of second-place Northern Illinois. EKU's Ragga Kristinsdottir was the individual medalist at 7 under par.

Ball State played shorthanded over the final two rounds without Tiegan Taylor who was forced to withdraw with a non-COVID illness.

The Cardinals will return to action April 10-11 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio. The event will serve as their final tuneup for the MAC Championships.
