Cardinals Win Exhibitions Against Butler, Parkland

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State baseball team concluded its fall season over the weekend. During the fall, the Cardinals played exhibition contests against Parkland College and Butler.
Ball State outscored Butler and Parkland 23-8. While each exhibition was a 12-inning game, the Cardinals tallied 34 hits in the two matchups. As a squad, BSU launched four home runs in two contests and drove in 23 runs. As a pitching staff, BSU struck out 26 batters, averaging 1.08 strikeouts per inning.
Trenton Quartermaine went 5-for-9 with two homers and eight RBIs, both led the team. Ryan Peltier posted five hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs. Zach Cole went 2-for-5 and produced a home run.
Andre Orselli and Tyler Schweitzer led the pitching staff with four strikeouts each. Sam Klein and Maxwell McKee tied for third on the team with three strikeouts apiece. Every single Cardinal pitcher recorded at least one strikeout in their respective appearances.

"I am very pleased with the progress our team has made during the fall practice. We spend a lot of time talking about getting better and as a team we did that. We have a solid group of young men desiring to become the best they can be and to leave their mark on our program. This fall answered a lot of questions and gives us a great hope. The next phase of development will be critical to the overall team success in 2022."
