Gymnastics Season Is Back As Cards Complete Exhibition

MUNCIE - After one of its finest seasons ever, the Ball State gymnastics team started the 2021 season in a different way. Rather than a Red-White intrasquad with guest judges voting and awarding points, the Cardinals had actual judges and ran Sunday's event as a single-team meet.
Each event had the customary six gymnasts plus two exhibition competitors. Familiar starting lineup veterans Arden Hudson, Marissa Nychyk and Sandra Elsadek competed as did all of last year's freshmen class. And four new freshman (Kelly Sulek, Hannah Ruthberg, Victoria Henry, Suki Pfister) took the floor in the competition arena for the first time. Ruthberg and Nychyk competed all-around.Â
Ball State will host home meets the final two Sundays in January. Fans will not be admitted this season but can watch every regular season meet online and follow on social media at @BallStateGym.

Vault: Victoria Henry (9.775)
Bars: Megan Teter (9.750)
Beam: Arden Hudson, Hannah Ruthberg (9.725)
