June 17, 2020 | Gymnastics
Suki Pfister will be a Ball State Cardinal this year. Pfister, from Fort Wayne, Indiana, will begin competing for the BSU gymnastics program as a freshman starting this fall.Â
"We are very excited that Suki is joining our family," head coach Joanna Saleem said. "She is quickly going to become a fan favorite. She is a powerful and dynamic gymnast that will fit perfectly in our program."
Pfister went to Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne and competed for More Than Gymnastics. She was a Level 10 Junior Olympics National Qualifier in 2018 and was Level 9 regional and national all-around champion in 2015. She won beam, bars and vault at the Arnold Gymnastics Challenge in 2019 and was top 4 in four different events at the St. Jude Benefit Meet in February 2020.
Her highest all-around score in club gymnastics was 38.250.
"I see Suki being a consistent competitor in two or three of our lineups this season and only getting better with more experience," Saleem said. "Her spirited personality drives her determined and focused work ethic and I love the energy she brings to all of our interactions and conversations. I am exited to see Suki grow as a Cardinal."
Pfister will be a freshman in the fall of 2020 along with other newcomers Hannah Ruthberg, Marisol Perez-Banus, Victoria Henry and Kelly Sulek.Â
Ball State is coming off one of its best gymnastics seasons ever, highlighted by three school meet records and an 11-4 head-to-head meet record.
