Softball shocked the NCAA with Regional win over Notre Dame
In 2015 Ball State softball faced an interesting crossroads. The Cardinals lost their top four hitters from the previous season, taking with them 38 home runs and the team's leader in steals upon departure.
Coming off three consecutive league championships, murmurs grew as to whether Ball State's run atop the Mid-American conference was about to wane. Â The Cardinals took note. Â The team's three-woman senior class wanted four rings, but more than anything it wanted to finally play in an NCAA Tournament. Â The quest to become #Dynasty41, based off being the 41st team in school history, was born.
What followed was an incredible run that saw Ball State shock the softball world, headline ESPN.com and write its name in record books forever.
