MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team will take on one of the most storied programs in college football for the first time when the Cardinals make the short trip east to Ohio State in 2026. The two teams are slated to play the season opener on Sept. 5, 2026.
Ohio Stadium is one of eight college football stadiums with a capacity greater than 100,000. Ball State is headed to the biggest college football stadium this season (Michigan – 107,601) and the second biggest stadium in 2021 (Penn State – 106,572). The Cardinals have squared off against Big Ten opponents in six straight seasons – Indiana in 2018 and 2019, Illinois in 2017, Indiana in 2016, Northwestern in 2015 and Iowa in 2014. This fall, the Cards will take on both Michigan (Sept. 12) and Indiana (Sept. 19).
