Tounalom, Taylor Post Top-25 Finishes at Jackrabbit Invitational

Cardinals remain in eighth place as a team on tournament’s final day
BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- Manon Tounalom and Liz Kim led the Ball State women's golf team Tuesday with rounds of 76 to close the Jackrabbit Invitational as the Cardinals remained in eighth place as a team.

Tiegan Taylor turned in another solid round with a 78, while Morgan Lewis provided the other counting score with an 80 on the way to a team total of 310. Ball State finished with a 54-hole total of 949 at Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Tounalom (T21) and Taylor (T23) led the way for the week with top-25 finishes in the field of 80 golfers. Lewis (T34) and Emily Knouff (T37), competing as an individual, also finished in the top half of the field.Â

There was barely any movement on the team leaderboard Tuesday as Ball State stood pat in eighth place of the 14 teams. The top five remained exactly the same as they were through 36 holes with tournament host South Dakota State (896) winning by 13 shots over second-place Boston College.

Madeline Jin (+1) of Boston College held off Sarah Bell of Oral Roberts and Teresa Toscano of South Dakota State by two shots to claim medalist honors.

Ball State finished four spots ahead of the only other MAC team in the field, Toledo.
Â
The Cardinals will return to action March 30-31 at the EKU Colonel Classic at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky.
