Social Sellout concept returns to Scheumann “Virtual” Stadium

Many years ago, Ball State Athletics launched a "Be There" marketing campaign to rally the Cardinals fan base to pack their home venues.
This year, being there has taken on a new look.
Fortunately, you can "Be There" virtually with the Ball State football team on Saturday, December 12th, when the Cardinal and White host Western Michigan at noon in a key MAC West tilt being billed as "Social Sellout Saturday."
"We miss our awesome fans!" said director of athletics Beth Goetz. "The Social Sellout concept provides an avenue for fans to 'attend a game' while supporting our student-athletes across the board during a challenging financial time in college athletics."
From now through December 12th, fans will have the chance to purchase a ticket to Social Sellout Saturday in support of Ball State student-athletes as plenty of fun is planned around the event with even more ways to support the Cards. Here are the details:
-Tickets start at just $5. We will email you a virtual game ticket in the form of a phone lock screen image. Purchase now. (Remember, there is no general public attendance at Scheumann Stadium this season)
-On Social Sellout Saturday we encourage fans to wear Ball State gear, share their photos on social media and we will display them on Chirp Vision inside Scheumann Stadium and share on social media.
-A Virtual T-Shirt Toss will be conducted on #ChirpChirpFriday, December 11th. Follow @BallStateSports and @BallStateFB on Twitter and Instagram.
-Purchase an official fan cutout! Snap a photo and your likeness could be featured on the north hill inside The Scheu on Social Sellout Saturday. Must purchase by Monday (Dec. 7) at noon for stadium placement; arena options for hoops season available too.
-Invest in a Cardinals Mystery Pack for only $7! You could receive high-end items like apparel or autographed items but you might also receive a game program from a 2015 football game. It's a mystery and the proceeds support student-athletes.
-We encourage Ball State alumni and former student-athletes to take part and host virtual watch parties to catch-up with friends and cheer on the Cardinals. Be sure to share a screen capture on social media using the hashtag #ChirpChirp or #SocialSelloutSaturday.
-To thank you for your virtual ticket investment, we will reward your support with a complimentary ticket to a 2021 home football game!
