Claudia Goyco Named MAC Specialist Of The Week

Claudia Goyco's fun, crowd-pleasing floor routine has garnered her an award from the Mid-American Conference. Goyco, a junior from Buford, Georgia, is the MAC Specialist of the Week.

Goyco delivered a 9.900 floor routine - her career best mark in the Cardinal lineup - Sunday to help Ball State to a quad meet home win over a field that included league opponent Bowling Green. She has performed a 9.800 or better in all three of BSU's meets this season. Dating back to last season, Goyco has five straight floor routines scoring at least 9.800.

As a team, Ball State scored 194.200 in the victory. The Cardinals had a score of 49.175 on floor, with Goyco's 9.900 and four other Cardinals with 9.800 or better.

Ball State travels to No. 4 Denver this Sunday to compete in a tri-meet that also includes Air Force. Ball State's next home meet is Sunday, Feb. 16 vs. Eastern Michigan.
