May 30, 2019 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Mid-American Conference unveiled an updated 2019 football schedule Thursday afternoon, announcing game times for the first three weeks of the regular season as well as several protected dates and midweek games in October and November.
The Ruoff Kickoff Classic on Saturday, Aug. 31, Ball State's opener against Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, will begin at noon on CBS Sports Network. The only other time the two teams met in downtown Indy, 2011, the Cardinals came away with a 27-20 victory.
The following weekend on Sept. 7, Ball State will take on Fordham at Scheumann Stadium on ESPN3 at 2 p.m. The 1949 undefeated team and 1989 MAC championship squad will be honored during the game as part of the Football Letterwinners Day.
Conference USA foe Florida Atlantic, under the direction of head coach Lane Kiffin, will make its first ever trip to Scheumann Stadium on Sept. 14. The Family Weekend game will air on ESPN+ at 2 p.m.
Ball State's 2019 Homecoming game versus Toledo on Oct. 19 will also kick at 2 p.m.
Two road game times were announced – Oct. 12 at Eastern Michigan (2 p.m.) and Nov. 5 at Western Michigan (7 or 8 p.m.). The WMU game will be broadcast on ESPN2 or CBS Sports Network.
All remaining MAC game kick times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled game.
As always, all Ball State football games can be heard on WLBC 104.1 FM.
The regular season will conclude with the 23rd Marathon MAC Football Championship game on Saturday, Dec. 7 from Ford Field in Detroit. This will mark the 16th Marathon MAC Football Championship game at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men's Final Four. The league title game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2 at noon.
