As a team, Ball State ranked as the best vault squad in the Mid-American Conference. Schweikert (national qualifying score 9.840; average of 9.783) was ranked second in the conference as a freshman. Schweikert, along with Menzione, was named second team All-MAC as well.
Nychyk (9.815 NQS, 9.783 average) saw her vault scores surge at the end of the season to earn a regional spot. Her vault performances scored 9.800 or better in five of the last six meets and she tied for third at the MAC Championships.
Menzione, an NCAA alternate two years ago who is finishing her career on the sport's highest stage, was the third-best floor exercise performer in the MAC with an NQS of 9.890. She scored 9.825 or better eight times on floor this season.
To qualify as an individual, a gymnast had to rank in the nation's top 16 in her event while also not being a member of a team in the NCAA field. Sixteen gymnasts from the 7-team MAC qualified as individuals. The teams competing in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional are LSU, Auburn, Arizona, Utah, Minnesota, Arkansas, BYU and two teams BSU competed against this season - George Washington and Lindenwood.
