Another MAC Weekly Award For Ball State Baseball

BSU will be the home team vs. Indiana at Victory Field Tuesday night
After throwing 8 scoreless innings in a win at Miami, John Baker was named MAC Pitcher of the Week. The right-hander's Sunday win clinched the series win for the Cardinals, who are in sole possession of 2nd place in the conference standings.Â
Baker, now 5-1 this season with a 1.93 ERA, struck out 8 and kept MAC-leading Miami at bay in a 6-1 Ball State win. That followed a 3-2 suspended-game win in the opener. Ball State (25-14, 9-4 MAC) became the first MAC team to win a series over Miami this season and handed MU its first 2 home losses of the year.
A junior from Hartland, Michigan, Baker is now 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in his 4 conference starts. He has been pitcher of the week in the league 3 times in his career in addition to being second team All-MAC in 2018.
Other players to be honored this season for standout play include: pitchers Drey Jameson, Chayce McDermott, Kyle Nicolas and position players Aaron Simpson, John Ricotta and Ross Messina.
