Cards Sending 3 To NCAA Regional

Three Ball State gymnasts are NCAA Regional bound. Senior Kaitlyn Menzione and freshmen Stefanie Schweikert and Marissa Nychyk will compete at the NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge April 4-6.
Menzione made the field after a standout season with her floor routine. The Illinois native holds a national qualifying score (NQS) of 9.890 on floor, which ranked 3rd in the MAC. Her season average is 9.855 and she was a second team All-MAC selection.
Another All-MAC performer, Stefanie Schweikert, qualified on vault. The freshman from Cincinnati was the No. 3 vaulter in the conference with an NQS of 9.840 and a vault average of 9.873. Nychyk also made the regional in vault, as she ranked 6th in the MAC in vault NQS (9.815). She tied for 3rd in vault at last weekend's MAC Championships with a 9.825 mark.
To qualify as an individual, a gymnast had to be in the nation's top 16 in her event - provided she wasn't at a school that qualified its team in the field. The MAC had 16 individuals qualify for a regional and Central Michigan made the field as a team.
