Seaman & VanBeek Head to USA Volleyball Tryouts

MUNCIE, Ind. - - Two members of the Ball State women's volleyball program will spend part of their spring break in Colorado Springs, Colo., vying for a spot on the U.S. Women's National Team at the national open tryouts March 1-3.
Junior Amber Seaman will be one of 42 setters competing for a spot on the national team, while junior middle Sydnee VanBeek is one of 41 middles looking to do the same under the watchful eye of U.S. Women's National Team Head Coach Karch Kiraly.
"I'm really excited for Amber and Sydnee to participate in the USAV Tryout," head coach Kelli Miller said. "They have worked really hard to prepare for this weekend, and I know they will represent Ball State and the Mid-American Conference well. It will be a great opportunity for them to be able to train with top coaches and players around the country, and I am confident they will compete well and learn a ton from this event."
The open tryout will be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center where there will be four sessions with three waves of athletes per session. Live streams for all of the tryouts, other than the Sunday morning portion, can be found by clicking here.
A total of 216 athletes will be on hand at the open tryouts looking to help repeat the success of the 2010 edition which featured Olympians Rachael Adams, Kelly Murphy and Carli Lloyd.
Selections to the U.S. Collegiate National Team will be made at the end of March. The national team program will offer competitions at:
