Women's Tennis Closes Out Weekend Play With 4-3 Win Over NKU

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Ball State women's tennis team (2-1) closed its two-match road competition with a 4-3 win over Northern Kentucky (1-2) this afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center located on the campus of Louisville.
The Cardinals came out of the gates strong in doubles play earning 6-1 victories on courts two and three. Victoria Sec alongside teammate Sarah Swiderski clinched the point for Ball State at the No. 2 position.
In singles action, Audrey Berger quickly put the Cardinals up 2-0 after her straight set take down over Maria Koo on court two. Gollhofer improved to 3-0 on the year after she defeated Katja Dijanezevic, 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot, giving BSU its third match point.
Northern Kentucky put itself on the board after Swiderski dropped fell to Margita Sunjic on the top court. After that, Isabelle Dohanics beat Hannah Watton at position six, 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the match for Ball State.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues spring play at home Saturday, Feb. 2, against Youngstown State. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center.
