MAC Announces Several Football Game Times for 2018 Season

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference released an updated 2018 football schedule Thursday afternoon featuring game times for the first three weeks of the regular season, several protected dates and midweek games in late October and November.
Highlighting the schedule are 16 games available nationally during the last month of the regular season, slated for ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+, ESPN3 and CBS Sports Network as the MAC race unfolds in both the East and West divisions.
Ball State kicks off its football season on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Scheumann Stadium against Central Connecticut State. The opener will be broadcast on ESPN+ at 7 p.m.
Two other home game times were announced today. Ball State's Homecoming game against Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 20 will be covered by ESPN+ and begin at 3 p.m. The home finale on Tuesday, Nov. 13 versus Western Michigan will be televised on ESPN2 beginning at 6 p.m.
Ball State's three other home game times and television coverage will be announced 12 days prior to that particular game day. Those games include Western Kentucky (Sept. 22), Kent State (Sept. 29) and Northern Illinois (Oct. 6).
The regular season will conclude with the 22nd Marathon MAC Football Championship game on Friday, Nov. 30 from Ford Field in Detroit. This will mark the 15th Marathon MAC Football Championship game at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, Super Bowl XL and the 2009 NCAA Men's Final Four. The league title game will be televised on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
