Women’s Swimming and Diving Hands Out Annual Team Awards

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State women's swimming and diving team gave out their annual team awards at the conclusion of spring training last week.
Two athletes were given the Student Athlete Award. Sophie Bader and Anne Vormohr earned that honor with both earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.
The Newcomer of the Year award went to Audrey Schank. Schank finished the season at 17th in the conference in the 100 backstroke. She leads the team in that event with a time 56.29.
The Strength and Conditioning Award was given to one swimmer and one diver. Cailin Merck and Caitlin Locante were the two to earn that award.
Rachel Smallwood was honored with the David and Sandy Spade Family Scholarship.
The Cardinals finished the 2017-18 season with wins at the Indiana Intercollegiate meet, Illinois State, Tiffin and Grand Valley State. Ball State earned 158 points at the MAC Championships to earn eighth place.
