Paris Carver Wins 100m at “GINA” Relays to Pace Track & Field Friday

HILLSDALE, Mich. -- Freshman Paris Carver turned in a career-fast 100m time of 12.00 to win the event and lead the Ball State track & field team on the second day of competition at the Hillsdale "GINA" Relays.

Carver also led the Cardinals with a sixth-place time of 25.59 in the 200m dash to pick up two of Ball State's 10 top 10 finishes on the second day at Ken Herrick Track.

Another highlight at the "GINA" Relays came from freshman Dejah Johnson who place second in the 400m dash, clocking in at 57.42.

In field event action Friday, sophomore Kelsey Walters placed seventh in the shot put (13.36m) and sophomore Megan Graves took eighth in the hammer throw (48.41m) with a career-best performance.

The Cardinals also competed in the 4x100m relay and the 100m hurdles at the Penn Relays Friday.

Saturday will see Ball State open both meets at 10 a.m. with the high jump at the Penn Relays and the discus at the "GINA" Relays.

The high jump will be BSU's final event at Penn, while the Cardinals will also compete in the javelin and the 1,500m run at Hillsdale College.
