Penny Granted Fifth Year for Gymnastics
April 20, 2018 | Gymnastics
Ball State gymnast Jordyn Penny has been granted a fifth year of competition for the 2019 season. Penny hopes to help the Cardinals improve their Mid-American Conference Championship projection next season.
"Nobody wants to the end their senior year coming in last place at MAC Championships," Jordyn Penny stated. "I can see so much potential in next years team. Even just talking with the current freshman got me really excited to come back because I can see how hungry everyone is to win. I just want to be apart of the big things that this team is going to accomplish next year."
Penny, an Aurora, Ill., native is a three-event competitor for the Cardinals. During the 2018 season Penny claimed two career high scores, on bars (9.900) and on beam (9.825). On vault she maintains a personal best score of 9.850. Penny remains one of the most consistent athletes on vault, bars and beam for Ball State's squad averaging a 9.800. Â
"I am really excited for Jordyn Penny to return next year," head coach Joanna Saleem said. "She is an excellent leader and her experience on the competition floor will be a great asset during the 2019 season."Â
