Baseball Adds A Pitcher to 2018-19 Signing Class

MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State baseball head coach Rich Maloney announced that high school senior Zach Losey has committed to playing for the Cardinals in the 2018-19 season.
Losey, hailing from Tipp City, Ohio, is a 6-5 right-handed pitcher who currently competes for Tippecanoe High School. A preseason second team all-state selection by Prep Baseball Report, he helped the Red Devils go 44-14 (.759) over the last two years. Losey is 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA and 23 strikeouts thus far in his senior campaign. He also competed on the Tippecanoe golf and basketball teams.
"Zach is a strong, physical pitcher with a huge upside," Maloney said. "We are excited to have him join our program."
Losey is the eighth player to commit to the Cardinals for the next academic year. He joins Chandler Banic, Nick Fushi, Langston Ginder, Ethan McCarty, Andre Orselli, Ryan Peltier and Ty Weatherly, who all signed in the fall signing period. Click here for their bios.
Ball State (17-17) returns to action Wednesday night at No. 8 Indiana. Game time is set for 6:05 p.m.
