Men’s Tennis Drops First Spring Break Match To UNLV, 4-0

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - The Ball State men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss to UNLV Wednesday afternoon in its first of two spring break matches. With the loss, the Cardinals drop to 10-3 on the season.
UNLV took the early 1-0 advantage over Ball State after winning the doubles point. Nemanja Guzina partnered up with Thibault de Negri on the top court but fell to the Rebels Courtney Lock and Alexandr Cozbinov by a score of 6-2. UNLV then claimed the doubles point with its 6-2 victory over Ball State's No. 2 duo of Mako Guzina and Conner Andersen.
In singles action, De Negri would be the first loss for the Cardinals as he fell to Eric Samuelsson in straight sets to give UNLV a 2-0 lead. Andersen then dropped his match 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4 position which pushed the Rebels cushion to 3-0. UNLV then clinched the victory after defeating the Cardinals Bryce Bonin on court six, 6-2, 6-1.
The Ball State men's tennis team continues play in Las Vegas when it faces Montana Thursday at 11 a.m.
