Indoor Track & Field Places 12 on Academic All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - A total of 12 members of the Ball State track & field program were named to the 2018 Women's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team as announced by the league office.
To qualify for Academic All-MAC honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for their particular sport. First year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residency are not eligible.

Of Ball State's 12 honorees, two earn the award for the fifth time in their careers, as seniors Gabby Sims and Anna-Kay West also swept the indoor and outdoor honors in each of the last two seasons.
Three Ball State student-athletes pick up the honor for the third time in their careers, as senior Adrienne Mayfield, junior Regan Lewis and junior Peyton Stewart also swept the honors last season.

Four Cardinals earn the award for both the second time in their careers and the second time in the 2017-18 academic year, as Peyton Kneadler, Maritza Rodriguez, Meliza Rodriguez and Brooke Talhelm were all named to the 2017 Academic All-MAC Team for cross country.

Sophomores Megan Graves, Amber Jones and Kelsey Walters earn the honor for the first time in their careers.

Ball State's 12 honorees are now eligible to be named a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete which is voted on by the faculty athletic representatives from each MAC institution. The award is presented to student-athletes from the Academic All-MAC Team who have excelled in athletics and academics.
