The Spring Season is Underway for Ball State Football
March 15, 2018 | Football
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State football team hit the field for the first of 15 spring practices Thursday morning at Scheumann Stadium. More than 80 players strapped on their helmets to begin preparations for this coming fall.
As is the standard for a first practice, the players did not dress in pads, just helmets. On defense, the Cardinals are making the switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 base formation, so several players found themselves playing new positions. The offense welcomed back several key players who missed significant time last fall due to injuries including quarterback Riley Neal, running back James Gilbert and wide receiver Corey Lacanaria.
The next practice is Saturday morning at 10 a.m. All practices are open to the public. For the complete football practice schedule, click here.
