Women's Tennis Suffers 5-2 Road Loss At Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team (5-4) suffered a 5-2 road loss to Youngstown State (5-7) Saturday afternoon at the Boardman Tennis Center.
Ball State took the early 1-0 advantage after earning the doubles point today over the Penguins. The Cardinals No. 3 doubles tandem of Peyton Gollhofer and Lily Hadab were the first off the court, earning a 6-2 victory over Ana Stroe and Antasiia Khokhlova. Youngstown State then knotted doubles play 1-1 with their win over the Cardinals on the top court. The first point of the match would come down to the Cardinals duo of Audrey Berger and Rebecca Herrington. The twosome would take a 7-6 (4) thriller over the Penguin's Imaan Hassim and Noelly Long Nsimba at the No. 2 spot.
In singles action, Youngstown State quickly tied the match 2-2 after earning wins on courts six and two. Ball State regained the lead after Isabelle Dohanics took down Hassim in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 position. After that, the Penguins would earn victories on the remaining three courts to seal their victory over the Cardinals.
The Ball State women's tennis team continues non-conference action when it plays at Kennesaw State on March 6 at 2 p.m.
