Smallwood Posts a Career High in Day Three of MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ohio –The Ball State women's swimming and diving team completed day three of the Mid-American Conference Championships Friday night with 116 points.
Sophomore Anne Vormohr competed in the 100 backstroke for the Cardinals. She finished in the 12th place spot, earning five points for Ball State.
Diver Rachel Smallwood had a solid night on the 3-meter board. She marked her career best with a final score of 277.75, which put her in the 12th place position. Smallwood's final score was 41.5 points higher than her prelim score, moving her from the 14th to that 12th spot.
"Rachel was awesome tonight," said diving coach Nick Gayes. "We switched some dives around for the evening session and it paid off. We had a plan for this meet and she executed it to perfection, finishing with a career best. You can't ask for anything better than that!"
The day ended with an eighth place finish for the Cardinals in the 400 medley relay. Andrea Richter, Amanda Kedzierski, Sophie Bader and Vormohr came together to post a time of 3:49.46 to earn Ball State 22 points.
