Tarsa Leads Cross Country at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Sophomore Emmalyne Tarsa turned in a 6K time of 23:18.2 to lead a trio of Ball State cross country runners to the finish line Friday morning at the 2018 NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Indiana State.

Running on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute for the first time in her collegiate career, Tarsa placed 158th out of the 225 competitors in her first regional competition.

Junior Lauren Whitehouse was not far behind, placing 166th among a field of the region's top runners with a time of 23:22.0. Rounding out Ball State's competitors on Friday was junior Meliza Rodriguez in 182th at 23:49.7.

With cross country season now complete, the Ball State's distance runners will turn their attention to the indoor track & field season which begins Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Bowling Green Opener.
