November 11, 2018 | Women's Basketball
MUNCIE, Ind. - Jasmin Samz scored a game-high 18 points as the Ball State women's basketball team won its first game of the season, beating Cleveland State 67-62 Sunday afternoon in Worthen Arena.
With the win, the Cardinals improve to 1-1 on the season while the Vikings drop to 1-2 overall.
"I am so proud of these kids," Ball State women's basketball coach Brady Sallee said. "Going back to the last game and the work they put in and the want to they showed in practice and the want to these last 40 minutes. I think it is more powerful when you have to earn it and work for it and we definitely did that tonight.
In a game that consisted of 15 lead changes and eight ties, the Cardinals managed to come out on top. Ball State found themselves down by eight (60-52) with 5:30 remaining in the contest.
