Final thoughts from the opener at Illinois …
"We're disappointed with the outcome, obviously, but there's a lot of positive things on tape, I don't want to lose sight of that. We've got to go out and execute, especially when the game is on the line and the stakes are higher. We've got to play our best football in the critical game moments and that's not what happened on Saturday."
Looking ahead to UAB …
"This is not a startup program. They've been practicing for a year and a half. Coach Clark and his staff have done a great job of bringing in some transfers and some junior college guys. They've done a very good job. They look like a team that is excited to be out on the field again."
What to expect from the UAB quarterback …
"We're facing a guy [AJ Erdely] this week that makes a ton of plays with his feet, he extends plays, and he throws the ball well on the move."
