Baker went 5-2 with a 4.28 ERA, 62 strikeouts and one save in his rookie season at Ball State.
Central Michigan pitcher Tyler Hankins and Bowling Green outfielder Jake Wilson were the other MAC players on the freshman All-America team.
Ball State concluded the 2017 season with a 30-28 overall record and 14-10 mark in the MAC. This was the fifth straight year the Cardinals reached the 30-win plateau.
