May 15, 2017 | Track & Field
CLEVELAND, Ohio - - For her performance at last week's Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Ball State sophomore sprinter Peyton Stewart has been named to the All-MAC First Team as announced by the league office.
Stewart earns the honor for the first time in her career after of capturing the league's individual title in the 100m dash with a career-fast time of 11.55. With the effort, Stewart became Ball State's first outdoor individual champion since the 2012 season and earns the programs 10th all-time title in the 100m dash.
In addition, her time of 11.55 currently ranks 53rd on the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round Qualifying List and puts Stewart in position to qualify for the meet, as the top 48 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition.
If she qualifies, Stewart will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division East Preliminary Round which runs May 25-27 at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility.
