April 14, 2017 | Track & Field
MUNCIE, Ind. - - It was quite the day for Ball State track & field's high jumpers, who both recorded career best performances in throwing events Friday in the Ball State Challenge held at University Track in the Briner Sports Complex.
Â
With just two events being held on the opening day of the meet, the Cardinals started the day with freshman Megan Graves making her debut in the hammer throw with a 13th-place mark of 30.61m (100'-5").
Â
In the day's second event, sophomore Regan Lewis launched the javelin a career-best distance of 35.07m (115'-1") to place fifth in her debut in the event this season. Lewis, who placed second in the high jump at the 2017 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships by clearing a career-best height of 1.81m, competed in the javelin three times her freshman campaign.

Both Graves and Lewis return to their main event Saturday on the second day of the Ball State Challenge. Action is set to being at 10 a.m. with the men's discus. The women's high jump competition will be held at approximately 2:30 p.m.
