
Multiple Cardinals Mark Career and Season Best Times in Final Day of MAC Swimming and Diving Championships

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2016-17 season Saturday night in the final day of the Mid-American Conference Championships.
To kick off the final day, three Cardinals competed in the 1650 freestyle. Junior Isaac Walling earned a 15th place finish after clocking a final time of 16:21.62. Senior JD Middleton touched the wall for a season high time of 16:36.20 while freshman Jack Luddy marked a career high time of 16:57.14.
Logan Ackley represented Ball State in the 200 backstroke and finished with a time of 1:52.26, a career high for the freshman. That time also marks a team best for the 2016-17 season.
Senior Austin Green and junior Banistre Lienhart both competed in the 100 freestyle. Green recorded a season high after touching the wall at 46.51. Lienhart also marked a season high with a final time of 47.23.
Sophomore Cullen Tyler was another Cardinal that set a season high in the final day of the championships. Tyler marked a time of 2:02.81 in the 200 breaststroke
Senior Tanner Barton clocked a season high time of 1:51.12 to earn a 12th place finish in the 200 butterfly. Barton ended the night in the 400 freestyle relay along with Banistre Lienhart, Ben Andrew and Austin Green. The foursome marked a time of 3:06.89.
The Ball State men's swimming and diving team finished the MAC Championships with 147 total points.
