Final thoughts on the Northern Illinois game …
"We knew playing at their place, we had to execute at a high level and avoid mistakes. We got off to a good start meaning we tied the game up there, 7-7. We had a missed assignment, gave up a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. We had a couple of explosive plays, got ourselves behind there at the half. When you get behind against a good football team it is really tough to be able to dig out of that. I am very proud of our guys fighting in the second half."
Looking ahead to the final two games …
"We have some young players that are continuing to develop and do some positive things. We have to build on that. More than anything else, we've got our final two games at home and we have to send our seniors off the right way. We have to play for pride and make sure that all of our young men know that these guys have laid it on the line and shed a lot of blood, sweat, and tears here for four or five years. We need to play for them and honor those guys."
Thoughts on the play of QB Drew Plitt …
"Drew has been efficient. He's done a good job running the offense, one of the areas that you can say OK, and I've talked to him about this, not every single play that you call is going to work especially from a passive stand point. When you play the number one defense in the league, which Northern Illinois is right now, you have to make sure that we stay out of bad plays."
