Seven Ball State Baseball Players Named Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced its baseball academic all-league team yesterday and seven Ball State players earned a spot on the list.
The Cardinals who made the list were:
BJ Butler, P, Jr., 3.871, Information Systems
Alex Call, OF, Jr., 3.838, Entrepreneurial Management
Matt Eppers, OF, Jr., 3.578, Entrepreneurial Management
Matt Haro, P, Sr., 3.265, Business Administration
Sean Kennedy, INF, Jr., 3.555, Business Administration
Kevin Marnon, P, Jr., 3.222, Finance
Caleb Stayton, 1B, Jr., 3.907, Telecommunications
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Only Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Toledo had more baseball players qualify for the list than Ball State.
The Cardinals concluded the season with a 32-26 record and won the MAC West Division title for the second time in the last three seasons.
