MLB's Jeremy Hazelbaker Joins Ball State Sports Podcast
April 20, 2016 | Baseball
Jeremy Hazelbaker, a Ball State baseball player from 2007-09, is the breakout star of the 2016 Major League Baseball season. A veteran of 751 minor league games, the St. Louis Cardinals outfielder finally got his shot out of spring training this year and made the most of it.
Hazelbaker made news belting three homeruns and at one point driving in runs in five straight games. He was one of three Cardinals to hit a pinch-hit homerun April 8th, a Major League record. The Selma native then went 4-for-4 in St. Louis' home opener to further grow his legend. A quick Google search reveals articles from FOX Sports, CBS Sports and USA Today.
This week Hazelbaker joined the Ball State Sports Podcast to discuss his rise to stardom. He touches on the success he's had this year, overcoming obstacles (including being released last season by the Dodgers), and his time as a Ball State Cardinal as well.
