Matt Eppers Named MAC West Division Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ball State baseball player Matt Eppers was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week Monday afternoon thanks to his consistent performance in the four-game series against Dayton.
Eppers, a junior from Bristol, Indiana, led Ball State with a .615 batting average this past weekend against the Flyers. The outfielder tallied at least one hit and scored a run in all four games. Eppers recorded a two-run double in the 6-1 win over Dayton on Friday. In the series finale, Eppers equaled a team season high with four hits. He not only went 4-for-4 at the plate, but also scored Ball State's lone run.
For the week, Eppers notched eight hits, scored four times, tallied three RBIs and posted a .667 on-base percentage.
Miami infielder Steve Sada (East Player), Kent State pitcher Eric Lauer (East Pitcher) and Toledo pitcher Ross Achter (West Pitcher) were the other award winners this week.
Ball State (11-10) is back in action tomorrow, March 22 with a home game against Big Ten foe Purdue. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
