
Zirzow and Bixler Complete NCAA Diving Zones

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Senior Madie Zirzow and junior Quinn Bixler competed in the three-meter diving event at the NCAA Zone C Championships on Friday afternoon.
Zirzow and Bixler finished in the preliminaries with scores of 216.10 and 203.40 respectively, although neither of the Cardinals advanced to the finals, which took the 18 highest scores from prelims. It was Zirzow's third time participating in the NCAA Diving Zones, while it was Bixler's first time at the event.
Mid-American Conference foe Miami University's Pei Lin snagged the top spot of the competition with a total score of 765.00, while Ohio State's Haley Allen followed in second at 629.65 and Purdue's Mary-Best Dunnichay rounded out the top three with a score of 625.40. Lin and Dunnichay also finished in the first and third spots in yesterday's one-meter diving competition.
There were 12 berths to the NCAA Championships available in the one-meter, along with seven entries in the three-meter from Zone C this year. In order to advance from prelims to finals, divers were required to finish in the top-18.
