MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ball State gymnastics team will host Lindenwood, Kent State, and University of Kentucky for its annual Think Pink meet Sunday, February 14, at 1 p.m. in Worthen Arena.
“It's going to be an exciting day because we are going to have four solid teams out on the floor at once,” head coach Joanna Saleem said. “I think there will be a lot of competitive gymnastics happening. We are looking to build off of last week, to continue that momentum through the month of February.”
The Cardinals are coming off of a season high of 194.675. During last week's competition against Western Michigan, the team managed a season event high on bars (48.875). On vault they put up an event score of (48.575), beam (48.450) and on floor (48.775).
Kayla Beckler was honored with first place and career high on bars with a score of 9.825. While Denasiha Christian earned her fourth floor title this season with a score of 9.850. Beckler continued to shine on beam placing second with a score of 9.775.
“The team is excited to get out there and show what they have been working on in the gym this week,” stated Saleem. “At this point in the season it's important that we maintain that incremental progress that we have been making week to week.
The Cardinals continue their season at DeKalb, Illinois, to compete against Northern Illinois on Friday, February 19, at 8 p.m. ET.
