May 02, 2015 | Football
Ozzie Mann, a redshirt sophomore quarterback on the Ball State football team for the 2014 season, has decided to transfer from the university and pursue other opportunities.
"We want to thank Ozzie for his hard work and for representing our program in a first class manner,” Ball State head coach Pete Lembo said. “Depth chart decisions are never easy, but they need to be made. Ozzie has our full support and we will do whatever we can to help him with this next step in his career."
Mann played in seven games and started six games at quarterback for the Cardinals in 2014. He made his first collegiate start in the season opener last fall vs. Colgate in Scheumann Stadium. Mann completed 20-of-32 passes for 203 yards with two touchdowns and one interception vs. Colgate. He completed 116-of-197 passes for 1,281 yards with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions last season. Mann redshirted at Ball State in 2012 before playing in six games in 2013 as a redshirt freshman.
