Softball Adds Home DH With Eastern Illinois

MUNCIE, Ind. - - The Ball State softball team has picked up two more games for its 2015 home slate, adding a Tuesday, April 7 doubleheader with Eastern Illinois to the schedule. The first game is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at the Softball Field at the First Merchants Ballpark Complex.
The Cardinals and Panthers have already played once this season, with Ball State scoring a 4-3 win over EIU Feb. 15 in the Tiger Invitational hosted by then-No. 17 Auburn. Overall, Eastern Illinois holds a slim 10-9 lead in the all-time series with the last meeting in Muncie coming April 22, 2008, when the teams split a twinbill. The Panthers won the first game 3-2 (8), while the Cardinals took the second 3-2 (8).
The Ball State softball team returns to action this Saturday (March 21), when it hosts Western Kentucky in a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The Cardinals and Hilltoppers close their three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
