Christian Named to All-MAC Gymnastics Second Team

Denasiha Christian, a junior member of the Ball State gymnastics team, has been named to the All-Mid-American Conference Second Team for a second straight season.
“We are really proud of what Denasiha has accomplished so far this season,” Ball State head coach Joanna Saleem said. “Being named to the All-MAC Second Team is a wonderful recognition for her and Ball State Gymnastics. She has taken her training seriously and worked hard each week to be prepared for competition. Denasiha earned her way into the beam line up for most of the season this year because of a reliable routine that consistently scores well. She has proven week in and week out that she is an outstanding member of our vault team. Her floor routine is one of the best in the MAC and is really an exciting mix of power and grace. She has been a valuable member of this team and we are all really excited for her to receive this honor.”
Christian was first or tied for first five times on the vault this season plus was first or tied for first four times on the floor in 2015. She set personal bests in three events and tied the Ball state school record with a 9.95 on the floor. Christian placed in the top five in 10 of 11 meets on the vault and seven times on the floor as a junior.
The 2015 MAC Championships are Saturday in Kent, Ohio.
