Denasiha Christian Named MAC Gymnast of the Week

Denasiha Christian, a junior member of the Ball State gymnastics team, has been named the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week.
"Denasiha did an amazing job this week competing on Monday against Illinois State and then again on Sunday against Kent State," Ball State head coach Joanna Saleem said. "She helped lead this team to a season high on Monday against Illinois State and the highest team score in school history against Kent State."
Christian took first place on the vault against Illinois State with a 9.8 score and vs. Kent State with a 9.85 mark. In addition, she took first place on the floor against Illinois State with a 9.85 mark and was second on the floor at Kent State with a 9.925. Christian also placed second on the balance beam against Illinois State with a 9.8 score.
This marks the second time in her career Christian has won the weekly MAC Award.
The Cardinals will complete the regular season Friday at Kentucky with Pittsburgh before competing in the MAC Championships March 21 in Kent, Ohio.
